Group Rides Schedule
Carolinatriathlon Rides Check this page often for updated listings of all types of cycling events in and around our area. Rides require, at minimum, an appropriate bike in good working order, hydration, and a helmet. We suggest a spare tube, energy food, maybe a little cash, and a positive attitude.

The Gimme 3 Gran Fondo is a cycling event hosted by the Laurens Police Department’s Bicycle Unit comprised of circuits on the flat, smooth test tracks of the Michelin North America Proving Grounds. Participants will be able to select from three distances (15, 45, or 104 miles), all of which will be entirely on the test tracks of the Michelin Proving Grounds which are closed to vehicles which are not support vehicles. All riders will begin with a 3.7 mile loop on the oval track 1 with the remainder of miles ridden on a 5.9 mile circuit which combines tracks 1 and 2.
Combining no traffic with only 1,500 feet of elevation gain over 104 miles, this is the best opportunity in upstate South Carolina to set a century PR, or complete your first century many will ever have. All while supporting the mission of the Laurens Police Department’s Bike Unit to “encourage and improve cycling.”
Because we want to ensure a high-quality, memorable experience for all participants, we are limiting this years field to 300 participants.

17th Annual Tour De Paws – Saturday, September 22, 2018
- For 17 years, the Freewheelers have offered Upstate Cyclists a Great Fall event….The Tour de Paws.
- For 17 years, a Great course, Great Food, and a Great cause.
- For year 17, we have made a big change to make it even better.
The reason for the event remains the same…to raise funds for all the homeless puppies, kittens, dogs, and cats at the Spartanburg Humane Society. Thanks to our sponsors, 100% of your registration fee goes directly to the Humane Society…and is tax deductible.
The start/finish location is the same as last year. R.D. Anderson Applied Technology Center is hosting our event!! The course routes, although will have plenty of familiar roads from the past, are MUCH safer. Less traffic, happier cyclists!!
Our four course routes have something to offer everyone….from an easy 27 mile out and back to a very challenging and hilly 57 mile course.
To register the day of the ride, the cost is $35 if you don’t want an event t-shirt, and $40 if you do want an event t-shirt….while they last. Your registration fee will help the Humane Society, hold you a long sleeve dry fit event shirt, have hot food waiting for you after the ride, and remind you on September 22 at 9:00am why you love cycling.
Click here to register today! ALL of your TAX DEDUCTIBLE registration goes directly to the Humane Society, thanks to our great sponsors who take care of the expenses.
Tour De Paws is, “Selected #1 ride in SC by Best Things SC” https://bestthingssc.com/cycling-bike-races/.
