10 a.m. – Furman University

Furman to Table Rock and back, about 55 miles.
Nice rest stop at Table Rock.
Spinners Free, others $10 donation to Safety Foundation.

What better way to end the year of cycling than with some like minded friends on New Year’s Eve day 2016.

That ride is the Greenville Spinners FINAL FIFTY! This years ride is being run by the Greenville Spinners Safety Foundation. The Safety Foundation is a non-profit subsidiary of the Greenville Spinners Bike Club who’s mission is to give young students in Greenville County Schools free bicycle helmets and bike safety tips. Your participation in this ride will help the Safety Foundation.

This is a moderately paced ride through some of the best scenery in the area. Just be sure you and your bike can cover the 55 miles distance. And don’t forget the weather can be much cooler this time of year.

This ride starts at Furman University then heads towards Dacusville after crossing the Saluda River. We then head north toward Table Rock Mt. State Park where a rest stop is set up. Take a moment to enjoy some snacks and the great view of Table Rock Mountain. After riding through Marietta, SC we take scenic Tubbs Mt. Road into Travelers Rest, SC. There is a 1.2 mile downhill with great views of Paris Mt. on this road! We then return to Furman to conclude the event. We will provide route sheets at the start of the event.

There are several lunch options near our turnaround point at Table Rock Mountain but you may just want to fill up on the provided refreshments.
