Campbells Covered Bridge Ride and BBQ -  23 and 50 Mile Routes (these two routes have rolling hills and they do not go up Camp Old Indian or the Watershed road to Saluda, NC)
Labor Day, Mon. Sep. 1, 2014 @ 10:00 AM | North Greenville University Stadium Parking Lot, Tigerville, SC
The Greenville County Recreation Dept has been making improvements at SC's last remaining covered bridge - It's now a nice park.  The Greenville Spinners are teaming up with Furman University student Global Sustainabliity Club, holding this ride as a benefit for the Club's Guatemala Water Project.  A pipeline is being run several miles to a Guatemala village to provide fresh water.  All the ride directors and helpers are volunteer so 100% of the money raised by the ride go directly to the project.  The routes are in the rolling hills of northern Greenville County and stop by Campbells Covered Bridge.  The 23 mile route has one stocked rest stop, the 50 miler has two stops.  Students will run the breaks.  The BBQ lunch is served from 11:00 AM until 3:00 PM. Ride Fee: $25 if you preregister, $30 day of ride. You can register online HERE.  Please visit the ride web page for more info by clicking  HERE
You can find more information about this project CLICK HERE
Ride Directors:  Ken Drescher and Steve Yetman

To all Spinners and SCTAC riders...

The paving will be on 4.2 miles of the total 7.2 miles. The remaining last 3 miles owned by SCDOT has not yet been scheduled.  Racing and riding on Perimeter Road will be SUSPENDED until further notice from the Greenville Spinners board. This will be in effect for at least the next three months. The country C rides will continue as planned.  Be happy because after its completion,  we will have a WIDER, SAFER AND SMOOTHER RIDE THAN EVER BEFORE!

Swamp Rabbit Trail Night Rides Return August 3rd!
Every Sunday night beginning Aug 3rd @ 7:30 PM | Zoo Entrance at Cleveland Park
Is your ride getting a little boring? Dare to try something different? The answer is the Swamp Rabbit Trail Night Ride! We gather in Greenville's Cleveland Park near the zoo entrance and take off into the night at 7:30 PM each Sunday evening, weather permitting. We ride about 12 miles to Travelers Rest which is our turnaround point then return to the zoo. We often make a diversion around the Furman Lake to view the lit bell tower. Be sure to have two hour front and rear lights as it does get dark in the deep woods. We regroup frequently and ride at a moderate pace of 12-13 mph average. Helmets and lights required to ride.  Weekly Email confirming ride is on is sent to all Spinners members.
